Spots and Stripes!

Hi, Today we woke up to the deepest snow i have seen for years! David went out to see if he would get his car out and it was up over his knees all the way along the road...he had no chance, totally snowed in! Its so beautiful to look at but the kids are out and in because the schools are all closed and there is wet clothes and boots everywhere! They are having great fun though! They are making a full size igloo later seemingly!
Anyway onto the card i made as i sat at my desk watching the snow get deeper and deeper! The sketch i followed is from the LOTV challenge blog. I love this image i have used, she looks so different every time i colour her with a different colour scheme! I have used Promarkers to colour her and the white i have used flocking, not that you can see much if it in the picture. The colour scheme came about from the Daring Cardmakers challenge, they are asking for Spots and Stripes. The DP is "Jolly Happy Xmas" from Dovecraft. I have also entered the Passion for Promarkers challenge. They have a challenge and a blog hop running for 2 weeks. The Theme is "Old and New". Well this card really fits the challenge, The flower i have on my card i have had since i started out card making a good few years back. So old it had lost the green leaves from the back of it! The new things is the DP's and the charm and chain. I have seen a few people use a few links of chain to dangle charms from lately but the first time i seen it was on Bev's blog, "All The Things I Love".  The Crafty Catz Challenge is "Christmas" and Stampin B's challenge is to make a holiday card and the Paper Cutz challenge is Anything Goes this week so i am entering these challenges too.

White Christmas!

Hi, Another late night! Today we had our first flutter of snow. It never came to anything but it definitely did snow! My card for tonight is all about snow! The Crafty Calender Challenge this month is "Winter Snowflakes and Crafts and Me Challenge is "Dreaming of a White Xmas". The card is a step card as you can see and i have used my snowflakes embossing folder to emboss the 2 layers on the base card. The image i have used it from LOTV and i just love it! I have coloured it in with my Promarkers. I have left most of it white obviously and used my grey shades to give shadows etc but you can hardly see it on the picture. The snowflakes are from my Cricut Potpouri cartridge and i have layered them up 3 times and used 3d foam pads to add depth. The charm, ribbon and pins just finish the card off and i added a little glitter to the smallest snowflakes. I have entered the Tip Top Tuesday challenge, they are looking for "Layer upon Layer"so this card fits in with that. There are a couple of "Anything Goes" challenges which i have entered and i will add the links to them below.

Bag of Gold!

Hi, Another horrible day today here, its been raining most of the day. I think the snow is not far behind!
Anyway here is todays creation! I decided to make a gift bag which fits in with the challenge at Die Cut Dreams Challenge Blog where they are looking for anything BUT a card. The Totally Tilda Challenge is where my colour scheme came from, they are looking for Glitz and Gold creations for this challenge. I found some lovely gold mirror card that has a mat finish in my paper drawers and it was perfect for embossing. I embossed the gold layer with my floral embossing folder and cuttlebug and layered it onto brown cardstock. I used my Martha Stewart deep edge punch and gold ric-rac on the brown layer and added a gold heart button. I coloured Tilda in using Promarkers but i never had a gold Promarker to hand so i had to use Mustard instead. I think it looks ok!!
The flowers i made from scratch. What i do is take a scallop circle and cut the scallop edge off. I have added a few pictures below to explain! Once i have the scalloped strip i gently curl each scallop to give them the petal shape. I then wrap the strip tightly around a quilling tool  and let it relax just a little until you get the size and shape you would like then use a dab of glue on the end to keep it from uncurling. To finish it off just pull some of the "petals" gently into shape until you are happy with it. I got this idea from the new x -cut quilling  flowers dies that are out and just love to make my own flowers.
(Cut the scallop edge off )

( Using a quilling tool wrap tightly then let it relax very slightly and glue)

(Once glue is dry pull the "petals" into shape for finished effect)

Sorry its such a long post tonight! As always here is the list of the challenge blogs i am entering.

Sugar Fix!

First of all, sorry about the poor photo. Its 2am and possibly the worst time to start taking photos! I couldnt sleep tonight so decided to have a sugar fix! Here is my entry to "The Sugar Bowl". The theme was to use the sketch given and the colour scheme of Black and White with one other. I chose pink as you can see! The sktech was a really good one to follow. I coloured my Gorgeous girl with promarkers. I love colouring these girls in and especially love colouring their hair!
I have also entered the card into the CES challenge. The theme is Lovely Lace so i have used 2 layers of the lace overlapping and think it adds a bit more depth to it. Passion for Promarkers challenge is "Stitching and Distressing. As you can see i have used Faux stitching around the black layer and also used my pricking took  around the other layers to create the "stitched" look! As for the distressing, i used black distress ink all around each layer. I didnt go too mad with it since its not really one of my best techniques and didnt want it to end up a mess. This is a area i need to improve on..lots!

Xmas Bling!

What a miserable, wet and dark day. The perfect day for crafting!! Heres my card that i made for a few challenges. The colour scheme was meant to be for the Totally Tilda challenge but i never got it finished yesterday morning so i was too late with it! Just my luck. Fortunately the Totally Gorjuss challenge this week was Non Traditional Christmas colours so my favourite icy blue scheme goes well. The Paper Cutz challenge is Christmas with Bling so i used new gems that i got that are just plain but shiny silver. I really love them, just that bit different to the gems i use all the time. The photo doesnt show them off that well. I have also played along with the Die Cut Dreams Christmas Club which is anything Goes this week.
I know this image is not a Xmas stamp but i thought it fits well and i coloured her with Promarkers. The snowflakes are from my Cricut Christmas Solutions cartridge.

Heres the links to the challenges i have entered;

As always thanks for looking at my cards and leaving such lovely comments.

Glitter and Glitz!

I have been offline for a few weeks now with broadband issues but all back up and running now so here i am back to enter a few challenges.
The image i used is a LOTV one and coloured with Promarkers. The white areas on her dress is filled with DecoArt Paper Effects and sprinkled with Glamour dust. The snowflales are from my Cricut Potpourri Cartridge and again covered with the Paper effects and Glamour Dust. The punch is a Martha Stewart which bought a the Hobby Craft Show in Glasgow along with a hundred other new bits and pieces that i "needed"!! The white mat is embossed with the Snowflakes Embossing folder and Cuttlebug. I finished off with a few gems, ribbon and xmas charm. I love this colour just now, just fresh and clean so have made most my family and friends cards in this colour combo.

Here is the challenges i have entered.
