Under The Sea!

What a day i have had! I cant even say i was rushing around because i wasnt but i had one of those days where nothing went right. I am shattered because Carrie was up all night not feeling great. that just set me off in the wrong foot for the rest of the day!

Today is the start of the latest Oozak Challenge. Its a picture inspiration this time.
Here it is...

Here is my take on it...Under the sea with Mermaid Tilda!

I had fun making this card. Firstly i won this stamp in a blog candy and have never used it...shame on me!
I also decided to try something new and use craft wire and Flower Soft to create the spiral stamens and then also used metalic flakes to cover the anchor. This could be a bit addicitive and after a few practice runs on card i decided not to buff it all up and left some areas with a mat look. This made a more textured look i think.

Here is a closer look at the Flower Soft and Metalic Flakes on the anchor.
Here is the materials i used which is available from the Oozak Store.

I also used Tim Holtz Vintage Shabby Papers
Cricut Potpourri Basket Cartridge for the anchor cut
Glossy Accents on the bubbles
Sizzix Thinlets Doily Die & Doily Border
Jute String
Tulle
Ribbon

I am now off to relax and watch a film in bed and maybe i will have a better day tomorrow! If you have time pop over to the Oozak Blog to check out the other creations made my the design team!

Goodnight from Scotland!!

A Little Distressed!!

Hello..hope your having a lovely week so far. The last two weeks has just flew past and its now its time for another challenge at Elphine House Australia!!

This time the theme is "Distressed"
Now as you might know i am not big on distressing. I love looking at cards that are distressed but when it comes to me doing one i end up putting it in the bin because i feel it doesn't look right. Well this is exactly what happened and the first card is now in the blue recycling bin outside...hence the title of my post!!

Here is my second attempt and i used only a little distressing of edges with my distressing tool then used some Bue Acrylic Paint, Weathered Wood Distress Ink and Course White Embossing Powders...All in little amounts! I have used "Fairy Faye, Make a Wish" from Elphine House Australia

 Materials Used...
Papers - Teresa Collins - Stationary Noted and Plain Blue Paper and Acetate for wings.
Dies/Punches - Cricut Wild Card Cartridge, Marianne Design Tga and Buttons, Fourishes and small flower Dies, Spellbinders D Lites Flourish Trim, Memory Box  Butterfly Delights, Small Butterfly punch.
Embellishments - Flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, Blue and White Ribbon, Lace and Paper Ribbon, Gems, Blue Acrylic Paint, Weather Wood Distress Ink, White and Clear Embossing Powers, Star-lite Gloss Varnish, Glamour Dust Glitter. I made the Decorative Pin myself using loose beads, spacers and pin and crimp bead.

Phew..that was some list!
Here is a close up of the image. I have done a bit of decoupage on her wings using the gloss varnish and glamour dust on them and then shaping them to lift from the image.

How many kisses?

Hello, hope your all well and having a good week so far.
Tonight i am off out for dinner with my friends that i have kept in touch with since we were all in Playgroup at the age of 3. We all grew up in the same street and because we lived in a small village we all played together everyday. We didnt have a choice of friends like kids these days do...there were only 20 kids in the whole school then!! My kids are now in the same school and there is 115 kids! Quite a difference!

Ok, today i have got my card for the new Oozak Challenge. The theme is ...

Anything Goes + Humour/Funny

This can be any type of crafts using any products as long as there is something funny or humourous
on there.

I had to scratch my head for this one because i am more into cute and the usual sentiments rather than a humourous card but as i was looking through my digi stamps i came across "My Prince" from Elisabeth Bell.
Then i found this sentiment on pinterest.

( please excuse the stray pearl...not sure how it got out of line!)

Products used from the Oozak Store

My Minds Eye 6x6 Paper Pad - Lost and found 2 Sunshine
Sizzix/Tim Holts On the edge Die - Bracket
Ranger Liquid Pearls
Ranger Stickles glitter
Memory Box Vivienne Butterfly
Queen & Co Self Adhesive Pearls – Snowflake

Other Materials -
Image from Elisabeth Bell Digital Collection, Sizzixs Thinlets Dies - Doily from the Doily &Doily Border Set and Border from the 4 Borders Set,  Flowers from Wild Orchid Craft, Ribbon, lace and the sentiment was computer generated.

I am off now to get ready to go out for dinner...mmm!
Pleease stop by the Oozak Blog to have a peek and join in!
Have Fun and Take Care,
